I honestly just do not see where this makes any sense. Most women in their first trimester are not going to face any risks participating in pro wrestling if they are in good health and good shape - and most women in professional wrestling qualify as both.

While men and women may be different, I can't see any male wrestler putting up with a requirement of, say, weekly testing for hernias or kidney stones, two things which could greatly impact the health of wrestlers. The frequency of the testing is invasive and it's financially prohibitive.

And what does it matter if there is a free clinic that will do it? Free clinics should be reserved for women who NEED affordable healthcare and cannot afford it. Passing this off on free health clinics would further burden the healthcare system and put needy women at further risk. This requirement is just NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY.

Please, give women, especially women athletes, a little bit of credit. Women who know they are pregnant, by and large, will not take risks with their unborn child. And those who chose to do so have a LEGAL RIGHT to do so, whether or not you or I believe that they should. Ultimately it is their responsibility and thus their choice to be responsible.

I suspect that the motivation for having a doctor do it has less to do with the quality of home testing and more to do with keeping the testing honest. You could at least make an argument that some women out there would continue wrestling even if they knew they were pregnant and simply lie about the results.

I know it's not quite the same thing, but would you accept home drug testing or home steroid testing for athletes? No, because you know that the guilty parties would simply lie about the results.
