NFL Draft 2009 – Round 1 #2 – St. Louis Rams – OT Jason Smith
With all-pro Orlando Pace moving on, the Rams don’t surprise anyone with their pick of Offensive Tackle Jason Smith out of Baylor.
ESPN writes- “A former tight end with great athletic ability and quickness, Smith has potential to quickly develop into a franchise left tackle. It’s important to point out that he isn?t nearly as complete a player as 2008 No. 1 pick Jake Long. He has a ways to go in terms of his drive-blocking and he played in a spread scheme in college, but we believe he will improve on those weaknesses.”
